NEWS: Three more podium finishes for Michael Leon at Shannonville.

Royal Distributing rider Michael Leon left the Shannonville Fabi track with three more podium finishes after competing in Round 3 of the RACE Series. Despite the success; 3rd in Pro Superbike, 2nd in Pro 600 and 2nd in Masters Open, Michael was disappointed considering that he had better performances on Saturday with 2 wins and a 2nd place during the heat races.
Once again, Pro 600 was a battle for the win between Sean Huffman and Leon. It went down to the last lap with both riders taking turns at the front. Huffman won the race, with Michael 0.248 seconds behind. Garvie was third. “It was a great race! I give Sean full credit for that one. He rode well and we had some terrific close and safe passing on the last few laps. I’m really pissed at myself that I didn’t come out on top.” commented Michael.
The results in Open Masters were a repeat of the last round. Steve Walker won, on his BMW. Michael finished second and Grant Smith third.
Pro Superbike was the last race of the day. Michael was able to take the lead on the first lap as rain started to fall. Garvie took over at the front on his ex Szoke ZX10 on lap 2. Michael fell back to 3rd, and then took the spot back the following lap. The race was red flagged due to the continued rain with results being taken from the running order on lap 4. “It was starting to get really sketchy as the track was getting more wet. I’m glad that the RACE officials called it when they did” said Michael after the race. The finishing order was Garvie, Huffman and Leon.
